विश्व विरासत दिवस

• 18 अप्रैल, 2020 को संपूर्ण विश्व में ‘विश्व विरासत दिवस (World Heritage Day) अथवा स्मारक एवं पुरास्थलों के लिए अंतरराष्ट्रीय दिवस (International Day for monument and sites) मनाया गया।
• वर्ष 2020 में इस दिवस का मुख्य विषय (Theme)-‘‘साझा संस्कृति, साझा विरासत, साझा जिम्मेदारी’’ (Shared Cultures, Shared Heritage, Shared Responsibility) था।
• उद्देश्य-लोगों का ध्यान विश्व विरासत स्थलों की ओर आकर्षित करना, उनके प्रति जागरूकता फैलाना तथा उनकी सुरक्षा व संरक्षण करना।
• उल्लेखनीय है कि 18 अप्रैल, 1982 को ट्यूनीशिया में ‘इंटरनेशनल काउंसिल ऑफ मानुमेंट्स एंड साइट्स (ICOMOS) संस्था द्वारा अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्मारक और पुरास्थल दिवस का आयोजन किया गया था।
• इस दौरान ‘विश्व विरासत दिवस’ मनाने का प्रस्ताव भी रखा गया।
• नवंबर, 1983 में यूनेस्को ने अपने 22वें सत्र के सम्मेलन में प्रत्येक ‘18 अप्रैल’ को इस दिवस के रूप में मनाने की घोषणा की।
• वर्तमान में भारत के कुल 38 स्थल यूनेस्को की विश्व धरोहर सूची में शामिल हो चुके हैं।
• जिनमें से 30 सांस्कृतिक श्रेणी जबकि 7 को प्राकृतिक श्रेणी और 1 को मिश्रित श्रेणी में स्थान प्राप्त हुआ है

• On April 18, 2020, 'World Heritage Day' or International Day for Monuments and Sites was celebrated all over the world.
• Out of which 30 are ranked in cultural category while 7 are in natural category and 1 in mixed category..
• Currently, a total of 38 sites in India have been included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
• In November 1983, UNESCO, in its 22nd session conference, announced to celebrate every '18 April' as this day.
• During this time it was also proposed to celebrate 'World Heritage Day'.
• It is noteworthy that on April 18, 1982, International Monuments and Palaces Day was organized by the International Council of Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) in Tunisia.
• Purpose - to draw people's attention to World Heritage Sites, spread awareness about them and protect and preserve them.
• The main theme of this day in the year 2020 was "Shared Cultures, Shared Heritage, Shared Responsibility".
